About Southern FRA
Clear answers. No obligation.
Fire Risk Assessment Done Properly
Southern FRA was established to provide fire risk assessments that are clear, proportionate, and practical.
We believe fire safety should be grounded in real understanding of how buildings are used in practice, not generic templates or unnecessary recommendations. Our assessments are structured, evidence-based, and aligned with current fire safety legislation.
Clear findings. Defined priorities. Practical next steps.
Our goal is simple: help responsible persons understand their obligations and act with confidence.
Practical, Risk-Based Approach
We assess properties based on how fire behaves in real buildings and how the space is actually used. Recommendations are proportionate to the level of risk.
Sussex Property Expertise
From HMOs and residential blocks to offices and commercial premises, we understand local building types and compliance expectations across Sussex.
Meet the Team
Southern FRA combines real-world incident experience with construction knowledge and regulatory expertise.
Dave Elliott
Dave brings over 21 years of frontline emergency services experience across Sussex, including responding to and investigating fire-related incidents. This has given him a practical, real-world understanding of fire risk and how effective fire safety measures protect people and property.
He takes a proactive, supportive approach to fire risk assessment, focusing on clear, proportionate advice and practical recommendations. Dave founded Southern FRA in 2024 and works closely with landlords, managing agents and businesses to help them meet their legal duties with confidence and clarity.
Nic Wilson
Nic began his career in the construction industry as a technical consultant, advising architects on building envelope systems including curtain wall glazing and rainscreen cladding.
His work included major infrastructure projects such as Crossrail and Transport for London, where fire testing and compliance standards were exceptionally stringent. Following the Grenfell Tower fire, Nic delivered seminars to architectural practices on fire safety and correct façade specification for both residential and commercial developments.
